What happens if I lose my wristband or chip?

If you happen to lose your wristband, just head over to Guest Services and inform them about your lost wristband. Each wristband is securely attached to your bank card using the UID. Additionally, if you've set up a PIN code for added security, your wristband is further protected. In the event that it's lost, it cannot be used without the PIN code. If you didn't opt for PIN code verification, that’s OK, too. Your wristband can still be located and blocked in the POS system from further use by searching by your name and the last four digits of your bank card. So, rest assured, we've got you covered!

What if I want to pay with cash?

No problem! You don't need a bank card for that. Just drop by Guest Services and a friendly cashier will assist you in pre-loading cash onto your wristband. Load as much as you desire onto the wristband, and then swing by Guest Services at the end of the event to get refunded for any remaining balance. It's as easy as that!

Is my card information safe?

Absolutely! Credit card payments via RFID wristbands are PCI-compliant. Your sensitive card information isn't stored on the wristband itself. Instead, it's securely housed in a PCI-compliant vault managed by our trusted payment processor. This setup ensures that neither [EVENT] nor Billfold has direct access to your information, providing you with peace of mind regarding the safety of your data.

I've linked my credit card, but I forgot to opt-in for email receipts and/or I typed the wrong email address. What should I do?

First thing, don’t worry! Just head over to Guest Services, and you can easily re-register your credit card. Make sure to opt-in for email receipts this time and double-check the spelling of your email address. 

Which company do you use for cashless transactions?

Billfold. You can find more information about them at billfoldpos.com.

Which on-site vendors are cashless?

All food vendors, [EVENT] merch, ice, showers, bars, and select marketplace vendors.

Are there any service/transaction fees associated with this system for attendees?

Nope! We've made a deliberate decision not to impose any service fees on attendee transactions with this system. You'll only pay the cost of the item + sales tax + any optional tip — just like you would with any other payment methods such as debit, credit, or cash. 

How does tipping work at vendors with this system?

Just like with any other POS system (Square, Clover, etc.), you'll have the option to select your tip amount on the checkout screen before confirming the transaction. Tipping is completely customizable and optional.

Can I use my credit or debit card to load money onto my wristband?

Credit and debit cards are utilized solely for linking your wristband for purchases made throughout the festival. When you link a bank card to the wristband, it establishes a direct link, allowing for pay-as-you-go transactions. There's no need to pre-load a specific amount onto the wristband; you'll only be charged when you make a purchase.

Is there any other way to use my credit card directly?

Absolutely! Credit cards equipped with a chip reader will be accepted at all POS locations at the event. 

Do I have to activate my wristband before arriving?

Pre-event activation is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. While you can activate your wristband on-site, we strongly advise activating and linking your bank cards online before arrival to avoid potentially long lines.

How do I activate my wristband?

  1. Locate the wristband code (UID) on the back of the wristband plate.
  2. Go here to quickly create a secure account via Social Connect or email. 
  3. Enter your credit card details, input the wristband code UID, and (if you like) set a PIN code to complete your registration. Please note, if you opt for a PIN code, you will need to enter it for every purchase.
  4. Enjoy the event without the hassle of constantly reaching for your wallet! 

A friendly reminder: If you're planning to purchase alcohol, make sure to have your ID handy at all times. Feel free to update your debit/credit card information whenever necessary. Additionally, on-site cash-loading services will be available.

My card does not have a chip. What do I do?

If your card doesn't have a chip, unfortunately, it won't be accepted for on-site linking. We recommend coming prepared with cash to load onto your wristband, or alternatively, completing the activation process online before you arrive. 

Can I activate my wristband on-site using Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or cards stored on my mobile phone?

For on-site wristband activation, a physical card is currently necessary. We recommend completing the activation process online before your arrival.

Can I link the same card to more than one wristband?

Yes! If you want to link the same bank card to multiple wristbands, simply repeat the activation process for each wristband.

Is my credit card information on my wristband?

No, your credit card information is not stored on your wristband. All data, including credit card details, is securely stored off-site in a PCI-compliant vault. 

How much money should I load on my wristband?

When you link a bank card to your wristband, it establishes a direct link, enabling pay-as-you-go transactions. There's no need to specify an amount to load onto the wristband; you'll only be charged when you make a purchase. Alternatively, if you're loading cash onto your wristband, feel free to load as much as you want. Any unused amount will be refunded to you at the end of the event.

Does my PIN code have to match the PIN code for my credit/debit card?

No, it doesn't. Your PIN code for the wristband can be any unique set of four digits. It doesn't need to match the PIN code of your debit/credit card.

What if I forget my PIN code?

If you forget your PIN code, you can repeat the activation process and it will override the previous PIN selection.

Can I switch the debit/credit card linked to my wristband?

Yes, you can change the debit/credit card linked to your wristband at any time. Simply log into your account and update your debit/credit card details accordingly. If you need additional assistance or have any questions while on-site, feel free to visit Guest Services for further support.

Do I need to carry my ID with me?

If you plan to buy alcohol during the event, yes. Having your valid government-issued photo ID with you is required.

How long does my wristband stay active?

Your wristband remains active only for the duration of the event and cannot be used at any other event or location. 

Is this a secure form of payment?

Yes, it is much safer to use an RFID wristband for payments (as compared to traditional payment methods) because of the extra layers of security at checkout. For instance, if you were to misplace your physical card, it could potentially be used by anyone who finds it. However, with an RFID wristband, the risk is significantly reduced. Furthermore, no credit card data is stored on-site or locally on the wristband. Instead, all sensitive data is securely stored off-site in a PCI-compliant vault.

Additional security reassurance for attendees

Two-Factor Authorization: Attendees are encouraged to safeguard their wristbands and purchases by creating a PIN during account registration. Should your wristband go missing, having a PIN in place will prevent the use of your wristband for any future transactions.

​Active Wristband Management: The system is equipped with dashboard functionality designed to search for and block specific wristbands from making purchases. This feature can be utilized in cases of suspected fraud or if an attendee reports a lost wristband that was not PIN-protected at registration.

Vaulting: No credit card information is ever stored locally on the wristband. At no point do we ever have access to your credit or debit card details. The wristband serves solely as a secure link to a cloud-based vault where your information is stored. This link is activated only through our software. In the unfortunate event of a lost wristband, there would be no way to extract any information from it.
